Green Chili Chicken Dip Recipe

Category: Appetizer
Ingredients
8 oz. package of cream cheese, softened
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 cup canned chicken, drained (grilled chicken is a good option here as well)
1/4 cup red onion, small diced
1/4 cup green chile (use your favorite)
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or whichever kind you prefer)
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded for topping
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375°
While the oven preheats mix the first 8 ingredients in a medium bowl with a spoon, the cream cheese will get softer as you work it. Order doesn’t matter with this recipe, just throw it all in a bowl and mix.
Once mixed, taste and add more salt or pepper if needed.
Transfer mixture to a 9×9 baking dish, spread evenly, top with the last 1/2 cup of shredded cheese and place in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the middle is hot.
Remove from the oven and let stand for 5 minutes. Scoop and serve with chips. Or eat it right out of the pan.
Why did we submit this recipe? This appetizer is one I created in a snack driven craze late one night; now it is a staple at all gatherings and is requested by family and friends alike. I now must make double batches and can’t even get a picture of the completed product before it is eaten by everyone.
